Our client is a leading building materials company based in Sydney, Australia and they design, manufacture, and distribute superior precast concrete and plastic pits, covers and construction accessories for the communications, transport, energy and water sectors.

They currently have an awesome opportunity for a full-time Mechanical Design/Draftsperson to join their growing team in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate has the ability to work in project teams and is a creative asset for each project. Since no two projects are alike your knowledge will get the chance to grow.
The Draftsperson is required to produce shop drawings for a range of products and ensure they comply with client and project requirements. They will work closely with and provide support to the Sales Team to meet deadlines.
Primary Responsibilities
Drafting
- Produce accurate shop drawings within designated time frames
- Ensure shop drawings comply with relevant specifications
- Identify potential safety or operational issues and provide solutions
- Work with Engineering Team to ensure shop drawings meet structural design requirements
Sales Design Support
- Actively Support the Sales team with:
- Product Information such as Drawings, BOMS etc.
- Product Design
- Product Optimisation
- Product Costing Support
Innovation
- Working with the Engineering Design Manager and Design Engineers
- Support, using the company’s stage-gate process, the design of the product from specification through to the launch of the new products that enhance and/or protect the company’s product portfolio
- Promote and actively engage with staff to bring new product ideas to the company
- Build and actively use relationships with external organisations such as Suppliers, Peak body groups and Certifiers
Requirements
- 3 or more years of Mechanical Drafting / Design Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Solidworks experience preferred and would be highly regarded
- Experience or interest in processes and process equipment
- Strong attention to detail and well organized
- Familiarity with Australian industrial standards is a plus
- Highly competent user of Microsoft Office suite of products (emphasis on experience at intermediate level in Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
Additional Information

- Employment type: Full-time (40 hours a week)

- Work Schedule: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (AEST)
- Reporting to: Lead Draftsperson
- Compensation: Weekly payments via PayPal, up to Php 50k/monthly
- Paid vacation and sick leaves
- Requirements: A fully equipped home office (desktop/laptop, headset, stable internet connection, and webcam), internet speed of at least 50 Mbps, and a contingency plan for power outages or connectivity disruptions.
